Introduction

Range Warden is range management software built for how ranges actually work. It replaces spreadsheets, paper sign-in sheets, and disconnected tools with a single web application.

  • Private gun clubs that need to manage memberships, collect dues, and track who’s on the range.
  • Public shooting ranges that want a self-service kiosk for walk-in guests and lane assignments.
  • Range Safety Officers who need a simple portal for shift scheduling and check-in oversight.

Range Warden is designed to handle the day-to-day operations of running a shooting range or gun club: who’s on the range, who’s a member, who’s working, and what’s happening. It covers the operational side of your facility, not the retail or regulatory side.

It’s important to set clear expectations. Range Warden is not:

  • A point-of-sale (POS) system. It does not handle retail transactions, inventory management, barcode scanning, or tax calculations. If your range has a pro shop or retail counter, you’ll continue using your existing POS system alongside Range Warden.
  • A firearms acquisition & disposition (A&D) platform. It does not manage ATF-required bound books, 4473 forms, or any FFL compliance records. If you’re a licensed dealer, you’ll still need dedicated FFL software for those obligations.
  • An e-commerce storefront. It does not sell products online, manage shopping carts, or process retail orders.
  • An accounting system. While Range Warden tracks payments for memberships and walk-in fees, it is not a substitute for QuickBooks, Xero, or your accountant.

If you’re evaluating Range Warden expecting it to replace your entire FFL operation stack, it won’t, and it’s not trying to. It does one thing well: manage your range.

Many ranges already have a POS system, FFL software, or accounting platform in place. Range Warden is built to run side by side with those tools, not replace them.

  • Your POS handles retail sales; Range Warden handles memberships, check-ins, and lane assignments.
  • Your FFL software handles compliance; Range Warden handles who’s on the range and when.
  • Your accounting software handles the books; Range Warden provides the operational data to feed into them.

Integration options, including an API for connecting Range Warden with other systems, are planned for a future release.

  • Membership management. Add, edit, renew, import/export, and archive member records with full history.
  • Self-service kiosk. Tablet-friendly check-in for members and guests with lane selection, safety acknowledgments, and weather display.
  • RSO scheduling. Create shifts, manage sign-ups, and track RSO certifications.
  • Payments. Collect membership fees and walk-in payments via cash, check, or Stripe.
  • Training courses. Record course completions and track certification expirations.
  • Reports. Usage reports, check-in trends, and a complete audit trail.
  • Email notifications. Configurable SMTP for renewal reminders and membership notices.
